Kalakandasur rules Swarga

Lord Indra, king of Devas ruled the heaven for many years. The heaven was very prosperous at that time. However their peace will be disturbed when the Asuras attacked the heaven. Most of the Asuras will be defeated in the war. However there are some Asuras who will be killed either by Trimurti, Tridevis or their sons. After one crushing defeat, Asura king, Akhirsen renounced his post and told that unless Lord Indra is defeated he will never return. Akhirsen's son, Kalakandasur took over his post. Kalakandasur decided to take revenge. So he undertook a penance to please Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva asked him for the boon to which Kalakandasur replied that he should be killed only by a human warrior and those he takes rebirths every time on Earth. Lord Shiva blessed him and at the very moment, he attacked Lord Indra and bound up him in chains. Kalakandasur decided to punish Lord Indra. He was made dasa of Swarga. In this way Kalakandasur ruled heaven for many years. He also brought his father back. Indra was very angry on seeing this.
